Job Summary
The Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing and administering a company's employee benefit and compensation programs and to be a resource to all employees in need of assistance in navigating those benefits.
Responsibilities
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Advise employees, answer questions, and enroll staff in benefit and compensation programs.
- Facilitate annual Open Enrollment as well as Open Enrollment for new hires.
- Ensure benefits deductions are updated properly in payroll
- Assist Payroll in ensuring all time cards are approved in a timely manner
- Maintain a positive relationship with benefits vendors and third parties.
- Ensure employees are added and terminated from their respective benefits in a timely manner
- Reconcile benefits invoices with payroll deductions
- Other duties as needed
Required
Education and Experience :
- High School Diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred
- 2+ years of Benefits Administration experience
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Specific Technical Skills
Preferred :
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience in Paychex, Paylocity, and/or Empeon
